About the site
What's "Bloody's Lair" ?
At it's core, Bloody's Lair is my attempt at many things : interacting with new people, sharing thoughts, expressing myself, trying some stuff with webdev...
It's also a try at bringing back a free, less centralized, more "shapeless" web, hence why I chose neocities as it's home.
What is the Lair built with ?
I'm building the site purely with my hands, without any AI tool or extensive framework (I intend to maybe use d3js and/or Processing later on), in pure HTML/CSS/JS.
Depending on my mood (and wether or not I'm on my laptop or fixed PC), I'm writing it's code with either VSCode (wich I'm gradually replacing because of my disgust for their makers) or neovim.
Is there any long-term project for the site ?
Not really : I might create a roadmap someday, but I'll mostly go with the flow. The first and foremost goal for this project is to help me write better and more often, so I can't let "big plans" forbid me to go forward with "intrusive ideas" that motivate me !
The only real "long-term" project I have at this time is to write some pages about projects, and try my hand at galleries, shrines and other more "unusual" kind of pages. I also have a veeeery long overdue article about Armored Core VI I promised someone to write a long time ago that I would like to finally create and publish here !
Was this site inspired by other ones ?
Omigod YES. A lot, actually. I am planning to do a proper "thanks" page for all my inspirations (some aren't even websites, like Zeph & Ramo's channel!), but for now I'll just do a quick rundown after mentionning that neocities as a WHOLE is highly inspirational to my work here :
- PetraPixel's neocities
- Ribose
- Melon's website/s
- Yesterweb
- Captain KRB's site
- My first website I did back when I was a kid
About Bloody
Who am I ?
I don't really like to describe myself using words, so I'll just pull out the very neurotypical™ "list technique"™ ((mostly)shamelessly) inspired by Sierra's !
